The district has 35 health facilities that provide services of which are 1 hospital, 3 health centers and 31 dispensaries. Among which 31 are owned by the government, 3 are Parastatals and 1 is FBO. The Council Health Management Team provides technical health and social care development advice within the Council. The mission is to facilitate health facilities so as to enable them provide Quality Health Services to the Public.
The model of health services delivery at Kisarawe District Hospital is based on preventive , primitive and curative care. The Hospital has the management team (hospital management team) which provides technical health and social care development.
HOSPITAL DEPARTMENTS.
Kisarawe District hospital comprises of 2 mainly department outpatient (0PD) and inpatient (IPD) which are divided into 10 department which are laboratory ,X-ray, Dental, RCH, CTC, HBCTB, Administrator, Dhobi, Pharmacy, Theatre and emergency departments. However Kisarawe District Hospital has 7 wards which are labor ward, pediatric ward, male Surgical ward, female Surgical ward ,Female medical ward, VIP ward. Each department has a head of department who is also a member of hospital management team.(HMT)
HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDED
Health services provided at Kisarawe District Hospital are maternal, newborn and child health services (ANC, immunization ,IMCI and family planning services) ,treatment of communicable and non communicable diseases (Hypertension ,Malaria , HIV/AIDS, STIS, respiratory infection, TB and urinary tract infection. Eye care services ,oral health condition ,skin diseases, injuries and trauma , mental health , emergency, major and minor surgery, delivery services, cervical and prostate cancer screening, laboratory services-ray and ultrasound services, counseling and HIV testing, TB and leprosy clinic, Diabetes Clinic, Nhif NCCF, CHF ,services, Gynecological and Obstetric services. The Hospital bed`s capacity is 150 beds, currently there are 108 beds.
